R & R
By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work.
Genesis 2:2
Is this is merely a suggestion? Is there a reason why God rested even though He’s Omnipotent (All Powerful!). What did He need to rest for if He’s as powerful as we’ve been told. Well, I’m sure it’s because it’s the Sabbath, but is there more?
There is power in resting. We are all a part of creation. We all have a hand in God’s work day-by-day. Yes, resting is a time to remember why we do what we do. It’s a time to reflect on what’s been done thus far. It’s a time to honor and praise THE SOURCE and it’s a time to rejuvenate for the next leg of the journey.
So much happens when we rest. The body and mind repair themselves. We get to heal and grow stronger. We get to refocus on what’s important and reconsider what we’ve been doing. It’s time to seek God’s direction. It’s a time for us to be one with God without much of the distractions.
What would happen if we really rested in God? What kind of miraculous work can God do in us?
