Attitude of Gratitude!
I can ONLY imagine how God feels listening to us complain about EVERYTHING! Oh my, that’s the one thing that seems to stop me dead in my tracks. Whatever we seek we shall find, right? So when we seek problems guess what we find. In other words, if our perspective is to see what’s wrong rather than what’s right, or at the very least what we can do, then what we see is almost always what’s wrong. That’s a pretty dim unappreciative view of life and more importantly it’s a pretty ungrateful attitude when God is the one that’s given us life itself. Focus on what’s good.
Yes, the world is a pretty crazy place at times, but we are in the world but not of the world. We are here to make this place a better place for all. How can we do that if we’re so focused on what we don’t like? How can we expect God to say one day, well done if our primary focus is to complain?
I don’t want to spend much time there, because it’s very easy to get caught up. I can go all day telling you what I see that’s wrong, well I used anyway. When I stop for just a moment and look at life as a gift, even the problems are a gift, I see things so differently.
I see God in creation mode when it snows. It’s absolutely amazing! It kills off stuff that won’t otherwise die. It’s mystical and beautiful. It slows us down on purpose. I also see God making when He warms everything back up giving us time to play. I see beautiful green grass and trees that give us oxygen. I see new birth. I see children. I see sunshine. I see love. I see fresh air. I see promises kept. I see my heart that seems to keep on ticking. I see new opportunities. I see a God that saves us. I see so much that I can’t help but tear up when I think about it, because I don’t know anyone that can give us so much!
An attitude of gratitude helps us with people as well as with God. Nobody likes a complainer. When we see challenges they are really just opportunities for us to create solutions, develop businesses and start ministries. Be grateful and give God all the praise. An attitude of gratitude is what God appreciates about us more than anything. Can you assume and ATTITUDE of GRATITUDE?
